Journey To Wellness
Cupping: Cupping works by placing round suction cups on to the skin where there is sore or restricted muscle tissue. The suction created by the cups acts like a vacuum to stimulate and increase blood flow. With increased blood flow, there is a decrease in muscle tension, pain, and myofascial restrictions. By using the Slide Technique--which uses massage oil on the skin prior to placing cups then using sliding/gliding and pushing/pulling strokes--helps prevent the usual "purple circle marks" associated with cupping.
Happy Feet: Let the days stress melt away with a relaxing foot massage. Happy Feet involves wrapping your feet in inviting hot steamed towels, followed by an enjoyable essential oil infused sugar scrub for the feet, then wrapped again in hot steamed towels to the allow the essential oils to absorb into the feet. Next using shea butter, I'll give a soothing massage from calves to toes, leaving the days muscle tension behind, and leaving your feet happy and renewed.
Swedish: Also know as Relaxation massage and often the lead in for other bodywork. Swedish massage consists of using gentle, long flowing stokes, kneading, and tapotement, which focuses on relaxing, de-stressing, nurturing, and calming the body, mind, and emotions as well as promoting overall wellness.
Myofascial Release: An effective hands on modality that involves gentle sustained pressure in myofascial connective tissue restrictions to release tension in the fascia caused by trauma, posture holding, compensation patterns, or inflammation. Myofascial release can relieve pain, decrease muscle tension, and restore mobility and function.
Deep Tissue: A Massage therapy that focuses on releasing muscle tension/restrictions in the deeper muscle and facial connective tissue layers that may have become "rigid" or "stuck". Usingslow and deliberate strokes with light, medium or firm pressure, the key areas, "trouble spots", can often be released.
CranioSacral: A calming and relaxing modality that uses a light therapeutic touch allowing the therapist to "listen" to how the craniosacral system and central nervous system are working and where restrictions may be in their rhythmic flow. Where a restriction is found, subtle techniques are applied to allow the restrictions to unwind and release. Often this will provide a decrease from pain, headaches, and sleep disturbances and muscle tension. (Client wears comfortable loose fitting clothes and stays clothed during session)
Reiki: A safe and gentle healing practice using a subtle form of energy healing drawing on the universal life energy. A practice of transmitting this energy through the practitioners hands to the client. The healing energy has its own innate wisdom to guide itself and promote wellness. It can ease tension, stress, pain and creating effects of calmness, peace and well-being to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body.
